NOVA Band
Year 5 Nova Band impressed teachers, tutors and parents this year with all of the
performance skills they gained on their instrument in just one year. After putting in
preferences for which concert band instrument they would learn, students were then
auditioned and each student was matched with the instrument they would be learning
for the year. A huge effort was exerted to prepare for the Australian National Eisteddfod
Band Competition in Term 2, and students were rewarded with a Silver award. The
highlight in Term 4 was the Spring Concert where students impressed their families with
a wonderful performance. Year 4 also enjoyed the music and were introduced to the
instruments they could be playing in Nova Band next year.
