Welcome to our Early Learning Centre

BCC Early Learning Centres are an important part of Brindabella Christian College. The College is excited to be able to offer, what we believe is, an excellent service that provides families and children with a proactive and professional educational environment.

The Early Learning Centre operates between 8am and 6pm Monday to Friday 50 weeks of each year. The Centre is closed on Public holidays and for two weeks over Christmas.

The Lyneham ELC welcomes children between the ages of three and six. The tuition fee is $102 per day (for both P3 and PK).The fees include all meals (morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and late afternoon tea) and weekly music and art lessons. BCC is only able to offer full day rates, however children are not required to attend for the full day if this does not suit the family.

Families have three attendance options:

  • Five days (Monday through to Friday)
  • Three days (Monday through to Wednesday)
  • Two days (Thursday and Friday)

An administration fee of $200.00 per application is charged.

As the Early Learning Centres operate under a long day care licence, parents will have access to the Child Care Benefit (CCB) and Child Care Rebate (CCR). More information on eligibility and the rates of CCB can be found on www.familyassist.gov.au  or www.mychild.gov.au

Introduction

The purpose built Lyneham Early Learning Centre opened its doors in January, 2010. Two separate programs are run each day, the P3 (three-year-old pre-school) class and PK (Pre-Kindergarten) class. The Lyneham centre is licenced for up to 44 children a day. Rooms are staffed according to licencing requirements.

Curriculum

BCC Early Learning Centre is committed to providing an excellent early learning curriculum, and is highly structured, intentional and focused. The curriculum builds on the children’s interests, strengths, capabilities, culture, developmental needs and experiences. Our curriculum decision making aims to reflect the Early Learning Centre philosophy and the Brindabella Christian College values and ethos.

Our curriculum development aspires to be a cycle of reflection, planning, implementation and evaluation. Each step depends on the other and the best educational experiences are provided for the children when these steps are working effectively.

The Brindabella Literacy Dig

The Brindabella Literacy Dig is a synthetic phonics program that is run in the PK classroom. Our goal is for our PK children to develop their phonemic awareness and a love of reading, to build a strong foundation Kindergarten and good learning habits that will last the rest of their lives.

Parent Involvement Program

At BCC Early Learning Centres, the encouragement and support of the families in any way is considered as valuable. The BCC Parent Involvement Program (PIP) provides an opportunity for parents to make a significant contribution to the running of the College according to their personal interests and preferences, and to contribute to the service decisions in meaningful ways. This involvement will also help achieve quality outcomes for the children.
