Software Design and Development
Students in Years 9 and 10 enjoyed an engaging program of study
in Software Design and Development this Semester. Commencing
with a look into basic programming in “Python” they then
considered current online issues such as the development of
new technologies and software piracy. We also purchased 2
“Raspberry Pi” computers to give students the opportunity to
develop programming skills and creativity. Students also
developed touch typing skills by undertaking a program which
saw them improve this valuable life skill. With so many
incredible opportunities in the world of ICT we built an
understanding of the computing and networking basics and then
eagerly explored new ways to provide real world solutions to
problems using the ICT we have so readily available.
