The Library continues to be a popular, busy centre of literature and learning for everyone in
the Brindabella Community from the ELC through to Year 12 students, staff and parents.
Some of the Library highlights this year have included:
• visiting the National Library with Year 11,
• author studies on Julia Donaldson and Odo Hirsch,
• National Simultaneous Story Time, reading “The Wrong Book” by Nick Bland withthousands of other children around Australia,
• the Chief Minister’s Reading Challenge,
• Year 9 “blind date with a book”,
• author visits from Mimi King, Katrina Nannestad and Anthony Hill,
• attending the Book of the Year announcements at the National Library,
• hosting the Children’s Book Council Children’s Seminar with 8 visiting authors andillustrators and 60 children from schools around Canberra,
• Reading across the universe during Book Week and dressing up as our favourite bookcharacter and,
• supporting Marymead’s “At home with books” program
