College Facts:
Professional Learning
All staff are required to enhance their specialist qualifications, skills and knowledge through specific
training and personal and professional development. During 2015, staff attended courses for day to
day work-based essentials including First Aid (all staff). Seminars and conferences were also attended
covering a vast range of educational topics.
The College had a further 3 professional learning programs accredited with the Teacher Quality
Institute: “Design Thinking for the Classroom”; “Pedagogy, Learning Spaces & Project Based Learning”;
and “Spectator’s Guide to Worldviews”. Guest speakers and leaders of learning included Bianca and Lee
Hewes, John Goh, and Dr Brian Harris.
All teaching staff were involved in ongoing professional conversations with their immediate supervisor
throughout the year and each received a performance review in accordance with the Australian
