New Executive
2015 saw a new P & F Executive elected, with
Julianne McMaster as President, Terence Palmer
as Vice President, Julie Ford as Treasurer and
Justine Baekalia as Secretary. The Executive is
focused on building community and providing
opportunities for families to get to know each
other, and supporting the learning environment
of all at Brindabella Christian College. Many
hours of work and passion goes on behind the
scenes. Thank you to the team for your tireless
work and heart for the BCC community.
School Banking
Many children took part in school banking this
year. We would like to thank Jason Blight for
assisting in school banking. The children have
enjoyed saving and collecting coins for prizes.
BCC Boutique
Rebecca Higgins has been managing the BCC
Boutique this year, providing the opportunity for
families to buy quality second hand clothing. The
boutique has been open throughout the week
at many and varied times making it accessible to
everyone. Thank you to the team of ladies who
have helped with this important service.
Fete
The fete this year was a fantastic way to showcase
our community and invite the public into our
school. The sun was shining, the breeze was
blowing and it was a great day. Many people put
in a lot of work to see a vast array of stalls, food
and activities for all ages. The fete coordinator,
Misty Ots, did an amazing job in bringing the day
together. Thank you to all who contributed and
made this an enjoyable community event. The
fete raised over $5000.
Community BBQs
Throughout the year the P & F were involved in
hosting many BBQs including the Cross Country,
Yr 7 Orientation and Encore. It was fun to see
the children enjoying a sausage sandwich and
laughing together. Thank you to all the parents
who helped with cooking and the cleanup at
these BBQs.
Crazy Tie Day (SIDS for Kids Day)
On Friday 14 August everyone was encouraged
to wear a crazy tie to school and donate a gold
coin to support SIDS for Kids. It was a great day
and more than $600 was raised and donated to
this worthy charity.
Father’s Day Breakfast and Stall
The Father’s Day Breakfast was a real hit with over
200 breakfasts supplied and family photos taken.
It was a morning to celebrate fathers and thank
them for everything they do. Many children also
had fun selecting gifts from the stall. We look
forward to doing this for both Mother’s Day and
Father’s Day in 2016.
International Teacher’s Day
30th October provided the opportunity to thank
our teachers for their dedication to the students
of Brindabella Christian College. We celebrated
with morning tea and a gift for all the teachers.
There was also the opportunity for the school
community to identify the teachers’ baby photos.
A lot of fun was had and it was great way to say
‘Thank You’ from the P& F.

Parents and Friends Association’s Report, Lyneham Parents and Friends Association’s Report, Charnwood
2015 was the inaugural year for the Charnwood P&F. It
was a challenging time but a fruitful learning experience
for everyone involved, as we looked for ways to support
the growing school. The P&F were surrounded by a
wonderful and cohesive community at Charnwood. It
was such a joy to work with everyone over the course of
the year.
It was a busy year for fundraising. Events included
a Chocolate Drive, hosting two Bunnings BBQs,
contributing to the fete, Trivia Night and a Twilight Fair
in December. Monies raised were used to purchase
climbing equipment for the ELC, craft activities for After
School Care, new sandpit equipment for the Junior
School yard, and a generous donation to the school
library.
The P&F also arranged for two Community and
Information nights with the BCC Board. These provided
insight into the future direction of the Charnwood
Campus and these will continue into 2016 as the
community grows.
The P&F would like to extend their thanks to Mr Keith
Roberts and Mrs Helen Wilks. These two, along with
the other wonderful BCC staff, tirelessly supported the
endeavours of the P&F and provided much needed
guidance throughout the year.
Planning is already underway for events in 2016 and the
P&F look forward to partnering with more families in
supporting the College.
