College Facts
STAFF
Brindabella Christian College has a caring and dedicated teaching sta! who commit themselves
to excelence in every area of teaching. 2012 saw our FTE teaching numbers go from 36 to 38.
In addition to our teaching sta!, we have an admin team of 10 (FTE).
Represented among our quali"cations are Masters Degrees, Bachelors Degrees in Education,
#eology, Teaching, Information Systems, Arts, Science, Engineering, Music, Human Move-
ment and Visual Arts, and Teaching Certi"cates.
All sta! are encouraged to enhanc their specialist quali"cations, skills and knowledge through
speci"c training and personal and professional development. During 2012 sta! attended course
for day to day work based essentials including "rst aid (all sta!).
Seminars and conferences were also attended including topics such as ITL Masterclass Confer-
ence, Managing Challenging Behaviour, Leadership, Mental Health and Wellbeing, Musica
Viva and Teaching Shakespeare.
COMMUNITY CARE
During the course of 2012, Brindabella Christian College supported and raised funds for many
organisations including World Vision and Operation Christmas Child.
Students from the Senior college organised, and ran, a very successful World’s Greatest Shave
across the entire College, raising in excess of $7,000.
CHAPLAINCY
Chaplaincy 2012 was a team e!ort. Under the guidance of Katie Godfrey theam team of sta!,
student mentors, students leaders and guest speakers cared for the well-being of the Brindabella
students through quality spiritual input, fun social events and compassionate pastoral care and
mentoring.
2012 saw some fantastic events including “Go Deeper” nights, prayer rooms and lunchtime
groups. #ese groups were overseen by our College Captains and Senior Students.
STUDENTS
Of the 29 students in Year 10 at the end of 2011, 26 chose to stay on to attend Year 11 in 2012,
and of the 17 students in Year 11 at the end of 2012 all chose to stay on to attend Year 12 in 2012.
