Ski Trip
This year 19 students from Years 9- 12 participated in the annual snow trip. The students thoroughly enjoyed skiing
and snowboarding and God blessed us with excellent conditions. The students enjoyed hooting around with Mr
Maher and Mr Campbell and improving their skills with Mrs Maher and Mrs White. All teachers remarked on
how lovely the time was for building relationships with the students and how well behaved all the students were.

“I really enjoyed learning how to do a 180 and ski backwards. I liked facing my fears by going down steeper hills and

Market Day
On the 17th and 24th of May this year, Mrs. Engelbrecht’s Year 10 SOSE class held a market day as part of their
Financial Literacy unit. Students were required to organise the event independently, including the purchase
and creation of various goods and services, ranging from home-made sausage rolls to a student-run car wash.
Both market days were hugely successful, all groups making a substantial profit which were sent to various
school-supported charities, such as ‘Bear in a Bag’. At least half of the stalls were sold out by the end of their
assigned lunch periods due to unexpectedly high demand. This experience has taught the class a great deal about
forecasting demand and budgeting to run a successful business.
