Norwest Campus

Welcome to the BCC Junior School (Kindergarten to Year 6)

The Junior school classes are located in the Canberra Christian Life Centre building in Charnwood. Learning spaces are designed to meet the needs of 21st century learners and include digital technology and excellent pedagogy.

The children also enjoy a covered eating area and new playground equipment with shade cloth and soft fall along with various outdoor activities available during their lunch breaks.

College staff members are Christians who value each student as a precious gift from God, and aim to develop their gifts and abilities through a caring and Christ centred learning environment.

Parents form an essential part of their child’s education and the staff seek to work in partnership with them.

Parents and carers may assist in the classroom in many different ways including:

  • Reading groups,
  • Library,
  • Sports Carnivals,
  • Excursions and
  • General classroom assistance.

Parents and family members are also invited to class and worship assemblies and throughout the year to other community celebrations.

The Junior School curriculum is well planned with literacy and numeracy groupings that allow students to work at their individual levels, with extension and assistance when needed.

Junior School students are encouraged to strive to do their best and explore their God given gifts and talents. Staff and students share their Christian faith through class devotions, the Biblical Living program and worship times.
