David Whittem


David Whittem has long served the Canberra community in various roles and has built a reputation founded on robust ethics and integrity. He has been the Principal of a local Real Estate Company for over 25 years, and he balances his passion for Real Estate with his support of Rotary, Overseas Missions, breeding beef cattle and other pursuits. He has served as a Board member for The Rotary Club of Canberra North, The Armstrong Siddeley Car Club and Calvary Chapel.

Prior to his career in Real Estate David matriculated from Canberra Grammar and began his working life as a Trainee Accountant, after the death of a friend he changed his career path to study for the ministry graduating from Apostolic Bible Institute in St Paul Minnesota in 1977. David then entered full time ministry evangelising and teaching in the USA and Canada, followed by a time in the UK as an Associate Pastor and church planter, returning to Australia in 1980.

Living in Canberra since 1980 David has been involved in church planting, teaching and preaching, fund raising to build an orphanage in India and a major local church building project. David’s main focus of support is now in India were he supports annual crusades with Rev Dr CP Thomas which have seen many miracles.

Professionally David is a Licenced Real Estate Agent, a member of the Real Estate Institute, an accomplished Auctioneer, project and property manager. He has been married to his wife Margaret for 30 years who helps him with his varied and busy life. He is a direct descendant of John Lees the Chapel Builder who built the first Wesleyan Chapel in Australia in 1817.
